Arizona hiking: -- Humphreys Peak

Humphreys Peak is the highest mountain in Arizona. There are two routes to the peak. One is on an old road, the other, a mountain hiking trail. We hiked the mountain hiking trail. Some good views on the way up. There are two false summits. At the actual summit you can see to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

The hike down was never ending. The trail conditions get more challenging the last couple of miles down. Lots of exposed tree roots that criss-cross the trail, lots of small boulders. You have to constantly watch your step for the last several miles.
